Escape Sadistic Puppets in a Game of “Hide And Seek” in ‘Hello Puppets: Midnight Show’

While you’re waiting for the return of Chucky and company, tinybuild has unveiled a brand-new title that takes your fear of puppets to a new level in Hello Puppets: Midnight Show. Debuting during Steam Next Fest, the first-person title is slated for a late 2021 release on Steam.

A standalone PC prequel to the VR hit Hello Puppets!, this new game is set in the 1980s on the set of a Muppets knock-off TV show. The premise is simple: you are Owen Gubberson, a master puppet maker who has brought your creations to life using magic. However, as you’d expect, the puppets turn out to be the sadistic and evil types, and they have “plans” for you. You have one night to reverse the spell and escape the Handeemen Sound Stage alive.

Hello Puppets: Midnight Show employs a “dynamic Hide and Seek” mechanic against AI that hunts you and forces you to learn its behavior and adapt. Not only that, but you’ll be up against four distinct AI bosses with their own unique behaviors, personalities, and narratives. The levels themselves will be “full of tools” to use against the puppets, as well as hiding spots, and pieces of a larger narrative that you’ll have to work to put together.

In addition to a trailer, tinybuild and developers Otherworld Interactive have made a limited-time demo available for you to play. The demo has you facing off against one of the puppets, Nick Nack, in attempt to escape his traps.
