‘Scream’ Actress Melissa Barrera Leading the Cast of Netflix Survival Series “Breathe”

Making her way into the horror genre with next year’s franchise relaunch Scream, we’ve learned via Deadline today that Melissa Barrera is also starring in a survival thriller for Netflix.

The series is titled “Breathe,” and Barrera will be leading the cast.

“When a small plane crashes in the middle of the Canadian wilderness, a lone woman (Barrera) must battle the elements and odds to survive. Barrera’s Eve is a razor-sharp Manhattan attorney who finds herself profoundly out of her comfort zone when her small plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness, and she must battle for survival.”

The one-hour series comes from Martin Gero (“Blindspot”) and Warner Bros. TV.

Brendan Gall is writing and executive producing alongside Gero.
