‘The Green Knight’ Rides as the Headless Horseman in New Footage! [Video]

A24 is about to make a triumphant return to theaters with David Lowery‘s (A Ghost Story) dark fantasy The Green Knight, said to be a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table.

“The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger.”

The history behind The Green Knight is an interesting one that begins with the discovery of a mid-14th century manuscript and an unknown author. “Sir Gawain and the Green Knight” is the basis of A24’s newest film and this excellent new mini-documentary narrated by Ralph Ineson. There’s some new footage, including that of the Green Knight as the Headless Horseman!

The Green Knight goes to battle July 30, 2021, and is rated “R” for “Violence, some sexuality and graphic nudity.
