Netflix Blows “The Witcher” Universe Wide Open With a Third Season and New Spinoff Shows

“The Witcher” has proven to be a massive hit for Netflix, with a second season of the main series on the way and a spinoff prequel series, “The Witcher: Blood Origin,” coming soon.

Additionally, Netflix has announced during their “Tudum” event today that a second anime feature, a new kids and family series, and Season 3 of “The Witcher” are on the way!

But first up, Season 2 of “The Witcher” premieres on December 17. Check out some brand new clips from Season 2 below, along with a sneak peek at “The Witcher: Blood Origin.”

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, “The Witcher” is an epic tale of fate and family. The story of the intertwined destinies of three individuals in the vast world of The Continent, where humans, elves, witchers, gnomes, and monsters battle to survive and thrive, and where good and evil is not easily identified.

In Season 2, “Convinced Yennefer’s (Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) brings Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”
