‘Baghead’ Cast Fills Out With Saffron Burrows and More

In another example of a short film getting a feature treatment, Alberto Corredor is directing a full-length take on his indie short Baghead, which locks up a witch in the basement.

Ruby Barker and Freya Allan will star in the film for Studiocanal and The Picture Company, and Deadline reports today that Jeremy Irvine (“Bridgerton”), Peter Mullan (“Top of the Lake”), Saffron Burrows (“You”), and Julika Jenkins (“Dark”) have also signed on.

Baghead follows the enigmatic Baghead, a diminutive wrinkled up person who is able to manifest the dead and bring them back to our world for brief periods of time. People seek out the medium to reconnect with lost loved ones. Once in contact with Baghead however, the title character’s true powers and intentions are revealed and there is a high price to pay for its contact with the deceased. Barker portrays a young woman who must face off with Baghead and put a stop to its maniacal evil at all costs.”

Christina Pamies and Bryce McGuire wrote the feature film’s screenplay.

Vertigo’s Roy Lee (IT) is on board to executive produce.
