Latest ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ Trailer Shows Us What Egon Was Up To in Recent Years [Video]

“We need to finish what our grandfather started.”

Ghostbusters: Afterlife will begin haunting theaters on November 19, 2021, and today a brand new international trailer pulls a bunch of new footage out of the Ghost Trap.

Played by the late Harold Ramis in the original classics, the iconic legacy character Egon Spengler seems to be appear in this new trailer, which gives us an idea of what he had been up to in the years before his death. The new movie, a sequel to the original movies, centers on Egon’s grandchildren, who are about to find out who their grandfather really was.

As for the legacy he leaves behind, well, they’re going to have to deal with that too. It seems Egon was protecting the world from a nightmare that is about to be unleashed…

In this year’s Ghostbusters film, written by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan:

When a single mom and her two kids arrive in a small town, they begin to discover their connection to the original ghostbusters and the secret legacy their grandfather left behind.

Afterlife‘s cast includes Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, Mckenna Grace and Paul Rudd.

Bill MurrayDan AykroydErnie HudsonSigourney Weaver and Annie Potts are all coming back for this sequel to the original classic, reprising their iconic and beloved roles.
