‘Candyman: Day of the Dead’ is Finally Getting a Blu-ray Release With Incredible New Artwork

For the franchise completists, myself very much included, Candyman: Day of the Dead is being added to Lionsgate’s Vestron Video Collector’s Series, bringing it to Blu-ray for the first time.

The third installment in the franchise, Day of the Dead went direct-to-video back in 1999, and Dawn of the Discs reports that it will be making its way to Blu-ray on January 18, 2022.

The release will feature an incredible new piece of artwork from Devon Whitehead, who shared the art on Instagram last night. You can check out that killer piece down below.

Tony Todd returned for Turi Meyer‘s Candyman: Day of the Dead, starring alongside Donna D’Errico. “The Candyman is back, trying to convince his descendent, an artist, to join him.”

As Bloody Disgusting’s Jason Jenkins wrote back in 2019, “Failing to capture the atmosphere or class of the series’ preceding entries, Candyman: Day of the Dead cheapens a previously respectable franchise with its overriding concerns with cheap gore and T&A. This film was a disappointment the first time around nearly two decades ago, and it’s aged into an even more unwatchable mess in the years since its initial release.”

Jason added, “With the exception of Tony Todd’s typically strong performance and a scant sequence or two, the enigmatic character is failed miserably by this film as a whole.”

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
