Kojima Productions Launches New Division Devoted to Film And Television

Those of you who follow Hideo Kojima on Twitter know the man likes his movies. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Kojima Productions has launched a new Los Angeles-based division dedicated to music, TV and film. GamesIndustry.biz reports that the new division is “designed to take the game studio’s games to other pop culture areas.”

The new division is being headed by Riley Russell, who brings 28 years of experience to the company after being PlayStation’s chief legal officer, and VP of business affairs. “The new division will be tasked with working with creative and talented professionals in television, music and film, as well as the more familiar games industry,” says Russell.

This of course begs the question as to what Kojima has in mind. We know that he loves to tease and play games with his Twitter audience, and his associations with Guillermo del Toro and actors Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus immediately begin conjuring up some awesome “What if?” scenarios. But that’s pure speculation at this point.

Meanwhile, Kojima Productions’ first title Death Stranding was recently released on the PlayStation 5 in a Director’s Cut. Death Stranding is also available on the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
