Matthew Lillard Launches Studio Midnite Movie Club With Vampire Movie ‘Let Them Die’

Alongside writer/director Bill Whirity, actor Matthew Lillard has launched the “first ever Decentralized Movie Studio” with Midnite Movie Club, which aims to give the filmmaking power to the people. Essentially, purchasing an NFT will grant you access to the studio’s membership board, and you’ll be able to make filmmaking decisions alongside other members.

Whatever that exactly means will remain to be seen, but Deadline lets us know in the meantime that the first movie from Midnite Movie Club will actually be a horror movie.

It’s titled Let Them Die, said to be a “high concept” vampire movie. Plot details are unknown at this time, and there’s no word on whether or not Lillard will appear in the movie.

Let Them Die will begin production this summer.

Head over to Deadline to learn more about this “decentralized movie studio.”

Deadline notes, “…viewers will be able to both vote on which films get greenlit as well as on creative decisions the filmmakers offer up to the community throughout production. A few examples of things you will vote on are: deciding which actors we will make offers to first, picking costumes, props, or creature designs, choosing our movie poster design, and more.”
