Frogwares Launches Kickstarter for Remake of ‘Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened’ With New Trailer [Video]

Last week, Frogwares revealed their new project to be a rebuilt version of their 2006 game, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened. They’ve now unveiled the €70,000 Kickstarter campaign for The Awakened, as well as a new trailer for the game.

As previously mentioned, due to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Frogwares has decided to go the route of crowdfunding to help with funding the project. There are several tiers for those who donate, with many of the top levels having already been claimed. In fact, the Kickstarter for Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened has already reached over €94,000 in funds.

As for the trailer, we’re introduced to Holmes and his sidekick John Watson exploring a swamp by rowboat when they meet up with unexpected company.

A meeting of Lovecraft and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, The Awakened puts you up against the legendary Cthulhu Mythos. Holmes must investigate a series of mysterious disappearances that are apparently linked to a dark cult that worships an Ancient God. The pursuit of the truth pushes Sherlock to the verge of madness, and it’s the only story that Watson will never publish.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in 2023.
