New ‘Lies of P’ Gameplay Videos Delve Into Soulslike Action [Watch]

After getting a glimpse of the game at Gamescom a few weeks back, developer Round8 Studio has released two “Director’s Cut” videos totaling over 40 minutes of gameplay footage from their upcoming Soulslike action RPG, Lies of P. The gameplay footage comes from the Gamescom demo for Lies of P, and features the player navigating the world, facing off against enemies, and culminating in a boss fight with a boss known as the Scrapped Watchman.

Inspired by the story of Pinocchio, Lies of P takes place in a dark Belle Époque world. Players take on the role of Pinocchio, who wakes at an abandoned train station of Krat, a city that has been overwhelmed by madness and bloodlust. In front of you is a single note that tells you to find Mr. Geppetto, who is somewhere in Krat.

Seeing as this is Pinocchio, you’ll have to engage in lies in order to progress through the game’s interconnected procedural quests. Depending on how you lie, your choices will affect the overall outcome of Lies of P‘s story.

While there’s currently no exact release date as of yet, Lies of P is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One and PC via Steam in 2023.
