[PAX West 2022] ‘Sucker For Love’ Sequel ‘Date to Die For’ Revealed, Coming This Year [Trailer]

Fans of DreadXP and developer Joseph “Akabaka” Hunter’s Sucker For Love: First Date will be pleased to know that the sequel to the Lovecraftian dating simulator is on its way. Sucker For Love: Date to Die For debuted at PAX West 2022, which is expected to release later this year.

Details are still to be revealed, but Sucker For Love: Date to Die For will introduce a new protagonist, new abominable love interests, new occult rituals, and a whole lot of heartache for fans to discover.

Sucker For Love: First Date (which we referred to as “one of the most interesting takes on a love story in a long time”) was created by independent game developer Joseph “Akabaka” Hunter, who contributed the original Sucker for Love concept game to DreadXP’s horror anthology game Dread X Collection 2. A subversive and bizarre take on the visual novel dating genre, Sucker For Love: First Date had players attempting to romance Ln’eta, a cute Cthulhu-like entity that is an affectionate sweetheart with a jealous streak; Estir, the elegant self-proclaimed royalty loves the color yellow and the finer things in life; and Nyanlathotep, whom at first may be intimidating, but eventually those around her are completely “enraptured”.

Currently, you can pick up Sucker For Love: First Date on Steam and Itch.io.
