‘Devil May Cry 5’ Reaches 6 Million in Sales Across PC, Consoles

Before Capcom gets to Resident Evil later this afternoon, they announced on Twitter that the most recent entry in the Devil May Cry series (that would be Devil May Cry 5) has hit another sales milestone. The fifth entry in the series recently passed six million units sold worldwide across PC and consoles.

Already the best-selling entry in the series, Devil May Cry 5‘s six million puts it within striking distance of the top 10 for Capcom’s Platinum Titles list. At the moment, the SNES version of Capcom’s classic Street Fighter II sits at 6.3 million units, with DMC 5 right behind it.

Of course, that might change with Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 remake being right behind Devil May Cry 5, with the former having sold 5.4 million units as of June 2022. And if you’re wondering, Monster Hunter: World is still top dog for Capcom’s Platinum Titles with over 18 million units sold across PC and consoles. Resident Evil 7 is next in line, with over 11 million units sold.

The next obvious question is will we get a sixth entry in the Devil May Cry series? With sales figures like these, that’s an obvious “yes”. The real question is when.

Devil May Cry 5 first launched for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam back in March 2019. That was followed by Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition, which launched for the Xbox Series and PlayStation 5 in November 2020.
