Hideo Kojima Announces ‘Maleficent’ Star Elle Fanning in Upcoming Game

Hideo Kojima has revealed that his next game will involve Maleficent actor Elle Fanning. Hideo’s studio, Kojima Productions, made the reveal at PAX Australia, which attendee (and From Software enthusiast) Lance McDonald reported during the event.

Kojima had been teasing a new project back at Tokyo Games Show, where the developer’s booth at the show featured a backlit portrait of a woman, with the phrase “Who am I?” over her face. That was further teased earlier last week on Twitter, where Kojima said that the answer to “WHO” at TGS would be at the next “WHERE”. Obviously, the “WHERE” turned out to be PAX Australia.

Attendees at PAX Australia could scan a QR code at the Kojima Productions’ booth, which lead to the reveal poster featuring Elle Fanning.

Seeing as this is Kojima, this is all we know so far about the project. While Kojima Productions did launch a TV and film division last November, the reveal poster clearly states “A Hideo Kojima Game x Elle Fanning.” So that begs the question of is this part of the rumoured horror game starring Death Stranding‘s Margaret Qualley? Or is this the sequel to Death Stranding that Norman Reedus said back in May had “just started”?

Heck, will Kojima reveal the game at The Game Awards this December? We’ll have to wait and see.
