‘Alan Wake’ Voice Actor Matthew Porretta Says ‘Alan Wake 2’ Is Coming in October

In case there was any doubt, October is going to be a busy month for horror video games. And if Alan Wake 2 voice actor Matthew Porretta is correct, things just got a little busier.

On a recent episode of the Monsters, Madness, and Magic podcast, Porretta, who voices Alan Wake, revealed that the highly-anticipated Alan Wake  2 is aiming for an October release. Around the 16:40 mark of the interview, host Justin Young commented that posed a question regarding Porretta’s move into voice acting, noting that Alan Wake is one of his favourite games. Porretta responded:

“I’ve been working on [Alan Wake 2]. That’s supposed to come out in October. We’re in the middle of working on it now. In fact I was just in Finland last week. That’s where the company’s from—Remedy—amazing people.”

Obviously, neither Remedy or Epic Games (who is helping to fund the development of Alan Wake 2) have responded to what Porretta has said. When we last heard about Alan Wake 2‘s development, Remedy’s CEO Tero Virtala stated that the game is “to the point of being playable from start to finish“, which does lend a bit of validity to what Porretta said. And with Summer Game Fest right around the corner, we may just get our answer soon enough.

Alan Wake 2, the long-awaited sequel to Remedy Entertainment’s award-winning 2010 psychological thriller, is currently in development for release on the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series.
