Surreal Horror Adventure Title ‘Shines Over: The Damned’ Announced for Spring 2024 [Trailer]

Indie developer Firenut Games will have a new horror adventure game for PlayStation 5 owners to tackle this Spring with Shines Over: The Damned. Touted as a “unique experimental adventure”, Shines Over: The Damned places you in a surreal and haunting world “where scares, tension and environmental puzzles surround you, and danger lies in wait.”

The plot for the game is being kept vague for now, other than establishing that you’re in this one alone. Well, not really. You have no name, no weapons. No friends to protect you. You only have yourself and, much like Bloober Team’s Blair Witch, your faithful dog, who will help guide you through the darkness and stay by your side.

As for gameplay, Shines Over: The Damned features “high-tension exploration” from a first-person perspective, with platforming elements to access new areas of the world. There will also be environmental puzzles to solve, each revealing new secrets of this dark world. Thanks to the use of Quixel’s Megascans library, the game’s detailed environments are as beautiful as they are frightening.

You can currently wishlist Shines Over: The Damned from the official PlayStation Store.
