“A letter was left with the bodies. We have 10 letters like it over the past 30 years, and all are signed with one word – Longlegs.”
By now we’re sure most horror fans have heard the hype and countless positive reviews that Longlegs has received as it enjoys its debut weekend at the box office. Written and directed by Osgood Perkins, the film follows an FBI agent as she struggles to hunt down a serial killer before he strikes again.
Perkins recently sat down with Deadline to discuss the film which stars Maika Monroe, Nicolas Cage, Blair Underwood, Alicia Witt, Michelle Choi-Lee and Dakota Daulby.
When discussing the Longlegs character played by Cage, the director said “When it came to Longlegs, the way we were going to treat his presence in the movie was going to be two things. It was going to be the hunted monster who because you never really see him, holds a real power. Because he’s able to sort of be omnipresent, and affecting everybody, and doing all these terrible things, and no one can understand how, and you just can’t find him.”
Perkins went on to discuss more about the film including writing some of the scary scenes and other cast performances.
