‘Killing Faith’ – Supernatural Western Starring Guy Pearce & DeWanda Wise Gets “R” Rating

Described as a genre-bending western, director Ned Crowley’s Killing Faith will be released here in the States by Shout! Studios, and the film has received an “R” rating from the MPA.

The upcoming Killing Faith starring Guy Pearce and DeWanda Wise is rated “R” for “Strong violent content, grisly images, drug use, sexual assault and some language.”

Bill Pullman (Independence Day), Raoul Trujillo (Blue Beetle), Jamie Neumann (21 Bridges), Jack Alcott (Dexter: New Blood), Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), and Emily Ford (Hold You Breath) also star in the horror-western film Killing Faith.

The film is described as “a cinematic, genre-bending western, mixing action and suspense against a plague-ridden landscape.”

Deadline details, “Guy Pearce plays Dr. Bender, a faithless physician who agrees to escort an anguished mother (DeWanda Wise) and her afflicted daughter on a journey across a treacherous desert. The mother is determined to reach a remote preacher-physician (Bill Pullman) in the hope of finding a cure for her daughter’s mysterious illness.”

“You haven’t seen a Western like this,” the team at Shout! Studios teases.
