Do you have fond memories of playing Dungeons & Dragons in your youth? Or perhaps you still actively partake in tabletop RPGs on the regular. No matter whether you’re a retired Dungeon Master looking to relive old conquests or you’re still actively involved in fantasy roleplaying culture, we’ve got a special treat for you today. Our video game distribution label, DreadXP, has partnered with developer Talesworth Game Studio to release a throwback effort that is sure to give you all the nostalgic feels.

The game in question is called The Secret of Weepstone. This is a hand-drawn dungeon-crawler rendered in striking black and white, paying loving homage to the classic Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks. The game tasks players with controlling a party of up to eight members. The gameplay challenges participants to roll the dice for combat and skill checks, as well as to put their puzzle-solving skills to the test while exploring the secrets contained within each dungeon. Gamers will also have the opportunity to level up as they search for treasure and win battles.
The full synopsis reads:
In the shadow of an abandoned keep lies the all-but-forgotten village of Weepstone. Once a thriving settlement, its fields now stand barren, and its people desperate. Byron, the Lord of Weepstone, has taken ill, his dreams plagued with visions of unholy rituals and occult symbols. Six unlikely common folk are tasked to explore the keep to discover the mysterious source of Byron’s suffering. There are no heroes here.
If you’re wondering when you can try your hand at this nostalgic throwback, we don’t have a firm launch date just yet. However, we do know that a rollout is planned for sometime in 2026. In the meantime, you can wishlist the game on Steam so you’ll be sure to get a heads up when it becomes available for purchase.
To satiate your appetite until then, we’ve embedded the announcement trailer for you to check out below.
