Love is forever, and the gruesome twosome vow to return.
Almost two years after Syfy’s Chucky concluded, the Child’s Play franchise still has life left.
Ignoring the 2019 remake, the canonized Child’s Play franchise ended with the 2017 Cult of Chucky, which would lead directly into the first season of Syfy’s Chucky. Including all three seasons, that’s about ten films worth of Chucky.
The greatest gift the series gave us was the prominent return of Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, albeit mostly in human form. However, in the series finale, Tiffany ultimately ends up back in doll form after being arrested and put on trial for a string of murders; in a last-minute twist, she transfers her soul into a Belle doll, escaping execution and regaining mobility in a new plastic body.
In a new interview with ET, Tilly spills the beans that there’s more Child’s Play in the future.
“The television series just ended, but I know for a fact there is more Chucky and Tiffany in the works,” exclaims an excited Tilly. “The gruesome twosome.”
While she doesn’t elaborate on whether we should expect another season of Chucky or a return to the Child’s Play film series, creator Don Mancini has been open about the possible return to the big screen. In fact, I’ve heard that’s the probable direction of the next incarnation of Chucky. Personally, I’d love a straightforward slasher in which Chucky and Tiffany torment another family.
“Never, ever, under any circumstances assume the killer is dead.”
