The buzz is strong for Shudder and IFC’s Faces of Death, a strange new feature that pulls the original VHS-era series into the real world, where a killer forces viewers to question whether viral videos are real or staged (and, according to the red-band trailer, Charli xcx seems to enjoy them).
We now have a full batch of images from the film, which continues the exploration of the original Faces of Death’s infamous ‘Is it real or not?’ conceit. In it, a woman (Barbie Ferreira) working as a content moderator for a major video platform discovers what appears to be reenactments of murders from the original film. In an online world where nothing can be trusted, she must determine whether the violence is fiction or unfolding in real time.
Faces of Death will be inserted into theaters everywhere on April 10.
