First Clip from ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Drinks Hot Wax to the Fullest!

IGN shares the very first clip from Sébastien Vaniček’s forthcoming Evil Dead Burn.

The first clip delivers everything fans love about the franchise: a Deadite drinking hot wax, a spine-snapping staircase tumble, and a darkly hilarious blend of brutality and fun, closing on a chilling tease of a possessed dog and a mysterious figure outside the house. Watch it immediately.

In the film, after the loss of her husband, a woman seeks solace with her in-laws in their secluded family home. As one by one they are transformed into Deadites—turning the gathering into a family reunion from hell—she comes to discover that the vows she took in life live on… even in death.

Souheila Yacoub’s Alice is the heart of the film and much different than Bruce Campbell’s outlandish Ash, explained Vaniček: “When we created Alice, we wanted a character who’s really grounded,” Vaniček recently told Empire. “She’s mourning someone, she arrives in this house, and crazy stuff happens. I wanted to create characters that are behaving like it’s real life.”

As for the deadites, “I needed to stay in touch with what makes these demons not like the ones from The Exorcist,” says Vaniček. “They are smart. They are playing with you. When I was talking with the actors, I was telling them, ‘Behave like animals.’ Every one of these Deadites has a fighting style that is completely different.”

The Dune: Part Two actress stars in Evil Dead Burn alongside Hunter Doohan (Wednesday), Luciane Buchanan (The Night Agent), and Tandi Wright (Pearl), with Erroll Shand, Edgar Price, Maude Davey, Keanu Karim, and Victory Ndukwe.

“I told the studio that I wanted to make a nasty film, a film that hurts, from which you come away tested,” Vaniček previously said of Evil Dead Burn.

“I’m going to put all the horror I have inside, it will be cathartic, and if I haven’t ruined my career and I can continue to make films behind it, I will move on to something other than horror!”

From producer Sam RaimiEvil Dead Burn heads to theaters on July 10, 2026.
