It’s been the big unknown for OtherSide Entertainment and System Shock 3, what with staff being laid off and OtherSide’s Warren Spector still searching for a publisher after having bought the rights back after Starbreeze imploded. There appears to be a glimmer of good news for the developers and the game, however.
Video Games Chronicle reports that SystemShock3.com and SystemShock4.com domains are now owned by Chinese company Tencent, which is supported by the domain profiles on DomainTools as of April 13th. Neither site is currently active, however, and OtherSide uses a different site to share development news on System Shock 3.
This might all be a strange coincidence, but nevertheless it’s something in the form of hope for System Shock fans. Meanwhile, Nightdive’s System Shock remake is still coming along, though the team hasn’t had an update since March on the development.
