Bohemia Interactive Launches Geo-beta For Upcoming Mobile Sequel ‘Mini DayZ 2’

Fans of Bohemia Interactive’s DayZ have a little something new (literally) to look forward to in Bohemia’s upcoming mobile game Mini DayZ 2, a sequel to the original Mini DayZ that’s currently having a geo-beta period in Canada, Scandinavia, the Philippines, Czech Republic and Turkey. Like the original game, the sequel uses sprite-based graphics, and expands on the survival elements of the previous game, which you can check out here.

As such, Mini DayZ 2 focuses on base-building and gathering allies, rather than being an open-world survival game. According to the press release, mechanics for the game include things such as resource gathering and growing food, meeting up with other survivors to eventually embark on raids to obtain supplies and upgrade your base, and unlocking blueprints for weapons and protective gear.

At the moment, the official site makes things clear: this is still a beta game, and it will crash and have bugs. That being said, the game will eventually be released on Android and iOS devices. If you’re not in one of the lucky countries listed above, you can at least follow the game’s progress on the website’s blog, or on the game’s official Twitter page.
