‘Cinemaphagy: On the Psychedelic Classical Form of Tobe Hooper’ Spotlights a Master Like Never Before

The late master of horror Tobe Hooper gets a much-deserved spotlight in a new book from writer Scout Tafoya, titled Cinemaphagy: On the Psychedelic Classical Form of Tobe Hooper.

Tafoya explains, “There have been other books on Tobe Hooper (including one in Italian about twenty years ago) but this is the first book on his entire body of work in any language.”

The book dives into Texas Chain Saw Massacre, of course, but also goes far beyond Hooper’s best known work, profiling a filmmaker who never quite got the respect he deserved.
