[Trailer] Paint The Countryside Red in Upcoming Action-RPG ‘Infernax’

While Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest initially wasn’t as well-received as the original Castlevania, it did eventually grow to have its fans. And if you’re looking for that blend of action and RPG, developer Berzerk Studio has what you’re looking for in Infernax, a demon-slaying action adventure inspired by Castlevania II and other 8-bit adventure RPGs.

Set for a release in Q1 2022 across PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Infernax has you in the boots of Alcedor, a famed knight who discovers that an unholy magic has spread throughout the land while he was away. Armed with your mace and shield, Alcedor must bash monster brains in gloriously gory fashion.

Much like in Simon’s Quest, Alcedor will gain experience and gold from killing monsters, which he can use to level up stats and earn new skills and weapons. Along the way, you’ll also encounter “morality-testing decisions” that will not only affect his quest later on, but will also influence which ending you’ll receive. The game’s open world design also holds a fair number of secrets that will reward those who endure the challenge.

Did we mention that the game is gory as hell? You’ve got enemies exploding in showers of the red stuff, along with your own messy deaths. Not to mention, those aforementioned moral choices you make can also involve killing everything and everyone in your path.
