EPIX’s Horror Mystery Box Series “From” Looks Like M. Night Shyamalan Meets “Lost” [Trailer]

This is what happens… when you break the rules.

In the wake of acquiring A24’s Saint MaudEPIX has started to become a pretty awesome little home for horror, with the Stephen King-based “Chapelwaite” and an ongoing 8-film collaboration with Blumhouse further building out the channel’s original horror content. Up next is new series “From,” created by John Griffin (Crater) and with 10 episodes on the way.

The series premieres Sunday, February 20, 2022, and today’s official trailer teases a compelling terror tale from executive producers of “Lost” that feels like an M. Night Shyamalan-esque mystery box of horrors. The series unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town in middle America that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down.

Watch the official trailer below, which has quite honestly already hooked us.

Created and executive produced by John Griffin (Crater), directed and executive produced by Jack Bender (Lost, Game of Thrones, Mr. Mercedes), and executive produced by Showrunner Jeff Pinkner (Fringe, Alias, Lost), “From” features a stellar ensemble cast led by Harold Perrineau (Lost). In addition to Perrineau, the cast includes Catalina Sandino Moreno (Maria Full of Grace, The Affair), Eion Bailey (Band of Brothers, Once Upon a Time), Hannah Cheramy, Simon Webster, Ricky He (The Good Doctor), Chloe Van Landschoot, Shaun Majumder, Corteon Moore (Utopia Falls), Pegah Ghafoori, David Alpay (Castle Rock), Elizabeth Saunders (Clarice), Elizabeth Moy and Avery Konrad.

From is a co-production between EPIX Studios and MGM International Television Productions, and is produced by Midnight Radio and AGBO.

Executive producer Jack Bender directed the first four episodes. Alongside Griffin, Bender and Pinkner as executive producers are Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec and Scott Rosenberg from Midnight Radio, Anthony and Joe Russo and Mike Larocca from AGBO and Lindsay Dunn. Midnight Radio’s Adrienne Erickson will serve as co-executive producer.

The series will be distributed by Netflix outside of the U.S.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
