Bloober Team has announced that they’ve teamed up with Rogue Games as part of Bloober Team’s currently-in-development next-gen titles for consoles and PC. While it might not seem like much at first, but when you dig deeper into the agreement, the speculation starts churning.
As horror fans know, Bloober Team have made a name for themselves with the Layers of Fear games, the Blair Witch game adaptation, Observer, and most recently, the critically-acclaimed The Medium. This announcement comes as Bloober Team released a video released last month teasing one of their unannounced projects. Not to mention Bloober Team CMO Tomasz Gawlikowski having to address “those” rumours, while also hinting at two “large projects”.
“We couldn’t be more excited to collaborate with Rogue on this incredible project,” said Piotr Babieno, CEO, Bloober Team. “We pride ourselves on making games that push the boundaries of originality and immersion, and we’re delighted to be working alongside a company that shares our vision.”
As for Rogue, they’re led by industry vets from Sony, Activision, Apple, Electronic Arts and others, with their recent game, Card Blast, being one of five games available for the global rollout of Netflix Games. It might not seem like much, but if you put up your corkboard, could this potentially mean that a Netflix property is involved? Or, could the game eventually show up on Netflix Games?
It’s reaching, I know. But, with all of the stuff going on these days, weirder things have come to fruition.
