Guillermo del Toro‘s new movie Nightmare Alley is on the way this holiday season from Searchlight Pictures, with the hotly anticipated film only in theaters on December 17.

Bloody Disgusting has the first clip from the movie that shows a scene early in the film. Bradley Cooper stars as an ambitious young carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words. Here, we see him hooking up with a female psychiatrist (Cate Blanchett) who is even more dangerous than he is.
The insane cast also includes Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Mary Steenburgen, and David Strathairn.
The movie adapts the novel by William Lindsay Gresham.
Published in 1946, the novel spawned its first feature film just one year later starring Tyrone Power and Joan Blondell, and this new take was written by del Toro and Kim Morgan.
