AMC’s “Interview With the Vampire” Series Unveils Halloween Season Premiere Date with New Trailer [SDCC]

AMC’s “Interview with the Vampire” brings the classic Anne Rice novels to the small screen this coming Fall, and today at San Diego Comic-Con, we get a new trailer that gives a closer look at Rice’s vampire characters and a new release date.

Rolin Jones (“Friday Night Lights”) is creating, showrunning, and writing the series, which will premiere on AMC on October 2.

The trailer highlights Louis living a lavish life in New Orleans at the turn of the century, unaware that he’s hunted by the vampire Lestat. Lestat, of course, promises immortality, but it comes with a cost for the moral Louis.

Sam Reid takes over the role of Lestat de Lioncourt in AMC’s upcoming “Interview with the Vampire” series. Jacob Anderson is Louis, Eric Bogosian is Daniel Molloy, and Bailey Bass is Claudia.

The series is an adaptation of Anne Rice’s iconic gothic horror novel, initially released in 1976. In it, a two-century-year-old vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac tells his life story and twisted vampire family saga to a reporter. It was the first in a novel series, and the AMC retelling is said to be a modernized retelling.

Alan Taylor is directing the first two of seven total first season episodes.

The Anne Rice catalog that AMC Networks has acquired features The Vampire Chronicles series: Interview with the VampireThe Vampire LestatThe Queen of the DamnedThe Tale of the Body ThiefMemnoch The DevilThe Vampire ArmandPandoraVittorio the VampireBlood, and GoldPrince LestatPrince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis, and Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince LestatThe Lives of The Mayfair Witches series: The Witching HourLasherTaltos; and The Vampire Chronicles/The Lives Of The Mayfair Witches crossover novels: MerrickBlackwood Farm, and Blood Canticle.

The Top 10 Streaming Scary Movies of Today (According to Netflix)

Given that Netflix really is the master of their own data, how many times a viewer streams The Ridiculous 6, or what films don't get watched all the way straight through, or how many times someone watches an episode of Bill Nye Saves the World, it was easy for them to come up with the list based on just one percentage: 70 percent.
