Netflix’s “The Sandman” Official Trailer Teases Dreams, Nightmares, and Hell [SDCC]

On the way from Netflix is a series adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s “The Sandman” comic books, and a brand new official trailer debuted today at the San Diego Comic-con teasing hellish horrors and fantastical dreams.

If you look closely at the trailer, you’ll even find some intriguing body horror.

The official logline: “When the Sandman, aka Dream (Tom Sturridge) — the powerful cosmic being who controls all our dreams — is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for over a century, he must journey across different worlds and timelines to fix the chaos his absence has caused.”

The series is described as “A rich blend of modern myth and dark fantasy in which contemporary fiction, historical drama and legend are seamlessly interwoven, The Sandman follows the people and places affected by Morpheus, the Dream King, as he mends the cosmic — and human — mistakes he’s made during his vast existence.”

“The Sandman” is a new dark fantasy Netflix series based on The Sandman comic book series created for DC by Neil Gaiman (Good Omens, Coraline). Gaiman is also an Executive Producer and Co-Writer. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

Here’s the main cast for the live-action series:

  • CHARLES DANCE is RODERICK BURGESS, Charlatan, blackmailer and magician
