“The Walking Dead” – Norman Reedus Spinoff Will Take Daryl Dixon to France

In addition to “Tales of the Walking Dead,” a Michonne/Rick spinoff, and a Negan/Maggie spinoff, Daryl Dixon is also getting his own spinoff series set in the world of “The Walking Dead,” with Norman Reedus on board to lead the untitled series. What can we expect from the Daryl Dixon solo series? For starters, it looks like the series will ship Daryl off to France.

Franchise architect Scott M. Gimple teases (via Total Film), “Daryl is a fish out of water to start with. If Daryl finds himself with new people, he’s a fish out of water. In France, in a country that’s going through the apocalypse, [it’s] an entirely different thing.”

“He finds himself having to reinvent himself again, having to find himself again, and also, not being with – probably – the only people in the world he’s comfortable with,” Gimple continues.

Total Film also notes, based on comments from Gimple, that the series is likely to see Daryl face off against fast-moving variant zombies, teased in “The Walking Dead: World Beyond.”

David Zabel will serve as showrunner for the Daryl Dixon series.
