A24 Reveals Cast for ‘MaXXXine’ Including Mia Goth, Kevin Bacon and Giancarlo Esposito

Ti West completes his X trilogy with MaXXXine, a sequel to last year’s movies X and Pearl. Confused? Don’t be! Set in the 1970s, X was the first movie in the franchise, while Pearl was a prequel that takes place in 1918. And MaXXXine follows the events of X in the 1980s.

Mia Goth reprises the role of Maxine in the upcoming 80s-set sequel that’s being directed by Ti West, and this morning A24 has announced the full cast that’ll be joining Goth.

MaXXXine‘s cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Moses Sumney, Michelle Monaghan, Bobby Cannavale, Lily Collins, Halsey, Giancarlo Esposito, and Kevin Bacon.

Check out the MaXXXine cast reveal teaser below…

MaXXXine reverses the franchise’s trajectory through time to pick up with Maxine after the violent events of X, as the sole survivor continues her journey towards fame, setting out to make it as an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.”

Production kicks off this month, with no release date set at this time.

It’s the best script of the three by far. It’s going be the best movie of the three,” Goth recently told Variety.

Goth continued, “It’s the biggest story of the three with the highest stakes and Maxine has gone through so much at this point. So when we find her in this new world, she’s just a force to be reckoned with and she goes through some pretty wild adventures.”

Stay tuned for more on all things MaXXXine as we learn it.
