New ‘Diablo IV’ Expansion “Vessel of Hatred” Arrives October 8 [Trailer]

After teasing fans earlier this year, Blizzard is set to drop the big one for Diablo IV fans on October 8 with “Vessel of Hatred”. The first expansion for the game packs a new campaign, a new character, a new region, new class skills and more.

Set immediately following the events of Diablo IV, Vessel of Hatred continues the story as you fight to save Neyrelle from Mephisto’s tightening grip on her soul, still reeling from the choice she made to contain him. The search for Neyrelle takes you deep into the ancient jungle as she grapples with the imprisoned Prime Evil.

Joining you on your journey is the new class known as Spiritborn. Ranked among the apex predators of the jungle, Spiritborn are battle-hardened with mystical synergies that could only be awakened deep within the jungles of Nahantu. Blizzard is keeping details to the chest for the time being, but the official class reveal will take place on  July 18, with an in-depth look.

Vessel of Hatred will take place in a new region known as Nahantu. Not quite the same as Diablo II‘s Kurast, you’ll still find plenty of secrets, new Dungeons, Strongholds, and plenty of monsters to take down.

The expansion will also bring with it a new co-op PvE mode where you work with your friends to complete objectives and slay the boss in a multi-level dungeon, while getting loot and rewards.

Currently, you can pre-purchase Vessel of Hatred from a variety of editions and bonuses. Available for digital pre-purchase as a Standard edition ($39.99USD), Deluxe edition ($59.99USD), and Ultimate edition ($89.99USD), the expansion will feature cross-platform play and cross-progression on Windows, Xbox Series, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Steam, plus up to four player co-op, including two player couch co-op on consoles.
