‘The Creep’ – Shudder Picks Up Remake of 2004 Movie Starring Franka Potente

Over twenty years after the release of 2004’s subterranean horror film Creep, director Christopher Smith is headed back underground for a remake of his own movie. It’s titled The Creep, and Deadline reports this morning that Shudder has picked up the film for U.S. release.

Jasmine Jobson (Top Boy) stars in Christopher Smith’s remake as Chloe, a struggling artist forced to return to her criminal past. Deadline details, “Andy Nyman (Wicked) is Dave, a captive who is well-versed in Creep’s nefarious behaviour. UK rapper Aitch also joins the cast in his acting debut as Natter G, a famous rapper with a sharp wit and natural survival instincts.”

Deadline further details, “Set in London’s iconic shadowy underground, the malevolent figure of Creep unleashes fresh terror on unsuspecting tube passengers and Londoners.”

Filming kicks off this Fall with a planned 2026 release.

Franka Potente starred in Smith’s Creep back in 2004, set in a London subway station. Pursued by an attacker, she heads into the unknown labyrinth of tunnels beneath the city’s streets.
