‘Backrooms’: A24 Shares Two New Official Posters for Liminal Horror Adaptation

A24 has unveiled two new official posters for Backrooms, their liminal horror feature arriving May 29, 2026, based on the YouTube phenomenon.

Also, after getting a truly unique teaser, the film’s first full trailer debuts tomorrow!

The posters tap into the style that made the original YouTube so popular, revealing the endless yellow corridors our lead characters find themselves lost inside. This time, the posters feature the film’s lead actors, unlike the first sheet, which focused solely on the iconic wallpaper. Check them out here:

The film, set to hit theaters on May 29, 2026, is directed by Kane Parsons, the visionary young filmmaker behind the viral Backrooms series on YouTube. Parsons launched the project as a teenager, quickly amassing millions of views and earning industry attention for his immersive world-building.

His leap from internet horror creator to studio director marks one of the most significant digital-to-theatrical transitions in recent genre memory. The film arrives the same month Focus Features and Blumhouse unleash Obsession from digital creator Curry Barker.

Here’s the first teaser trailer to prepare you for tomorrow’s full promo:

Backrooms stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve, both of whom bring serious dramatic prestige to the eerie material. It’ll be released exclusively in theaters on May 29 from A24.
