Snake Plissken is heading back into the dead zones.
The iconic antihero returns this September in Escape from New York, Escape from Chicago #1, a brand-new comic book series from superstar writer and filmmaker Kyle Higgins and artist Val Rodrigues that expands the dystopian world created by John Carpenter.
According to the official synopsis:
“Once you go in, you don’t come out—unless your name is Snake Plissken! Plissken now survives as a coyote, smuggling people and contraband across the dangerous dead zones between prison territories like Chicago. It’s a hard and bitter job. But when he’s hired to extract a woman wanted by the city’s warlord, Snake sees one more chance at redemption—or one more chance for the universe to kick his ass. Introducing new settings and characters with all the dystopian insanity you know and love.”
Originally introduced in John Carpenter‘s 1981 cult classic Escape from New York before returning in 1996’s Escape from L.A., Snake Plissken has remained one of genre cinema’s most enduring antiheroes. This new series promises to continue his story while introducing new locations, new characters, and even more of the franchise’s trademark dystopian mayhem.
