Bucking the “trying to be Dark Souls” tag wasn’t easy for developer Cold Symmetry and Mortal Shell, but the team’s efforts paid off, including a nomination at The Game Awards last year. Building on that success is Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition, which is an upgraded version of the title due out digitally on March 4 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
The action-RPG is getting remastered with “uncompromised 60fps gameplay, enhanced textures, 4K resolution and DualSense support.” And yes, existing owners of the Xbox One and PS4 versions will get the Enhanced Edition as a free upgrade.
If that’s not enough, Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition – Deluxe Set is also due out later this Spring for $39.99 USD, and comes with a 140-page artbook showcasing never-before-seen concept art and illustrations created during the game’s development, as well as an exclusive reversible cover and art postcards. The Deluxe Set will be available at all major participating retailers this spring across North America and Europe, alongside a standard physical edition.
Mortal Shell is also available on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
